First, and before we go any further, let’s take a moment to familiarize everyone with solar flares. Being at a copy writer for a create, buy and sell your own clothing and accessories company, I have no insight for you as to what this phenomenon as all about, so I figure it best to leave it to the pros:

On Monday and Wednesday the sun unleashed a solar flare –a burst of radiation — directly at Earth coupled with a coronal mass ejection — a massive explosion of magnetized plasma — from an active sunspot. Not all solar flares are accompanied by a coronal mass ejection and every coronal mass ejection is accompanied by a solar flare, but the sun’s eruption earlier this week featured both.
Eric goes on to explain how these solar flares and coronal mass ejections can affect us here on earth:
…the magnetized plasma from a coronal mass ejection interacts with earth’s magnetic field to produce geomagnetic storms that can wreak havoc on our electrical grid depending on severity. For example, in 1989 a coronal mass ejection caused a nine hour blackout for Quebec, Canada, CNN reports.
Now that we’ve gotten all of that out of the way and have moved past my original thought that we were all going to be cooked like hot dogs on the 4th of July, CHECK OUT THESE SICK INTERGALACTIC T-SHIRTS!
